Yoga Story


My yoga journey started over a decade ago, as a means to find healing and freedom from Trauma and stress.
It was here that i found the love of yoga and life alignment therapies and started to incorporate them into my everyday life. 

“ I began this journey of teaching with one thing in my heart, to support others in self healing through yoga, embodiment practices and life alignment therapies. I’ve been driven by wanting to create what I wish existed, I wanted to develop something meaningful. Connecting with the embodiment of the yoga practice on a deeper level, outside of the perceived “fitness trend”.
I turned to my mat for deeper healing and in a life-changing way the practice ignited my greatest purpose: to serve and give back to others and create community. From this Mind Body Soul Yoga was born and I've been teaching ever since...nearly 13 years on the mat". 

I continue to create yoga practices and facilitate healing through yoga classes and yoga journey classes for people to retreat and learn the practice of yoga and it’s self healing tools that can be used everyday to release stress, soothe the nervous system, heal trauma and bring the body into a healing response and back to neutrality. All my classes are inspired by the raw imperfect flow of life and so all my classes are taught with a wide-open heart.

My journey through life and passion for yoga has inspired me to create self healing through yoga for others to physically and emotionally reconnect to their bodies and learn how to find peace even where there are challenges.
I created a yoga practice in a town where nothing much in the way of health, wellness or yoga really existed, there were very few yoga spots or places to retreat, i started self practicing in 2007 and began teaching in 2011, going on to open my own yoga studio located in Carlyonbay in 2013 and it was here that mh practiced continued to grow and spread with many of her own students training alongside my practice and becoming yoga teachers themselves, and from it a yoga community has grown.

The practice is simple, connect to yourself. I believe that showing up for yourself is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself and to others. I am passionate about encouraging others to move, breathe, feel, and heal on and off their yoga mats, to be able to hold space for yourself as you navigate through the highs and lows of living…

Life now in this modern world is so fast, society has and is pushing so many of us into conformity, added pressures, stress, demands and suffering, constantly stripping us from our natural state of health, freedom and peace. Our bodies are simply not designed to live in the rat race of daily stress. 

 I know that the lessons learned on the mat directly translate into navigating life off the mat and I too rely on these embodiment practices and yoga to return to my breath, find balance, create strength and reconnect to my body.

In my everyday life I am a play-at-home mother of two, yoga teacher, fibre artist and lover of nature.
